Founded in 2016, Carnegie India, based in New Delhi, is part of a robust global network that includes over 150 scholars in Asia, Beirut, Brussels, and Washington.

Led by Indian experts with decades of international and domestic policy experience, Carnegie India engages with governments, policymakers, academics, students, industries, practitioners, and civil society to provide insightful and fresh analysis on India’s pressing challenges and the rising role of India in the world.

Carnegie India has three interrelated programs: security studies, political economy, and Technology and Society.

About Carnegie India’s Young Ambassadors Program (CIYAP):

  • Carnegie India’s Young Ambassadors Program is a one-year program for young individuals to understand research-based policymaking.
  • Based in New Delhi, Carnegie India is looking to recruit one young ambassador with an interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for its Technology and Society Program.
  • The program for the selected candidate will run from February 2024 to January 2025.

Program Highlights:

CIYAP is designed to empower future leaders, providing them with the chance to:

  1. Understand Research-Driven Policymaking:
    • Engage with Indian and global experts on key regional, national, and global issues.
    • Explore multidisciplinary perspectives on policymaking.
  2. Join a Diverse Community:
    • Collaborate with young leaders in New Delhi and connect with the broader Carnegie network in Washington D.C., Brussels, Beirut, Berlin, and Beijing.
  3. Develop Professional Skills:
    • Hone leadership, analytical acumen, critical thinking, and report writing skills.
    • Participate in cutting-edge economic policy projects at Carnegie India.
  4. Mentorship and Networking:
    • Receive guidance from Carnegie India scholars.
    • Build networks within Carnegie and the industry.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant should be a recent graduate in any discipline with an interest in the field of technology policy, public policy, law, management etc.
  • Applicant is expected to commit full-time to the program in New Delhi..
  • Preference will be given to applicants from beyond metropolitan cities.

Remuneration:

  • The selected applicant will be paid a fixed monthly stipend, along with a one-time relocation amount.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will focus on AI-related research, including ethics, governance, emerging trends, and compute power issues.
  • Responsibilities may encompass administrative tasks, research assistance, and support for ongoing projects within Carnegie India’s Technology and Society program.
  • Additionally, the candidate will contribute to issues like biotechnology, space policy, data governance, encryption, digital privacy, and semiconductor supply chains.
